Oklahoma State University

Greetings from the Dean PDF Print E-mail

Veterinary medicine is an exciting, challenging and fulfilling profession. While many of you are attracted to our profession because of your love for animals and a desire to pursue a career in private veterinary practice, you should also be aware of the many other career options available to veterinarians. The Center for Veterinary Health Sciences at Oklahoma State University offers a curriculum designed to prepare new graduates for a variety of biomedical careers including private practice, post DVM clinical training programs, research, industry and government.

We have an excellent faculty who truly care about student education and career and personal advisement. Many of our faculty members have earned awards for their teaching and research expertise and many are recognized as among the best authorities in their disciplines. Our alumni have distinguished themselves in many fields and in service to the veterinary profession. During the past six years, three of our alumni have served as president of the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Welcome to the profession of veterinary medicine and the many exciting opportunities that await you in our college.

Sincerely,

Jean Sander, DVM
Dean
