OSU Center for Veterinary Health Sciences The Center for Veterinary Health Sciences at Oklahoma State University prepares confident, competent veterinarians who have advanced to careers in private practice, regulatory medicine, industry and military bases around the world. Our research advancements in parasitological and infectious diseases are well known. The vast curriculum comprises a rounded education that includes all domestic species. Students may emphasize their area of interest through choices of elective courses. Hands-on experiences are spread throughout the curriculum. Students are encouraged to participate in an integrated approach to learning by utilizing case-based teaching, interactive classroom environments (including audience response systems) as well as traditional didactic presentations.
"Early in my education, I considered pursuing human medicine. However, after shadowing several veterinarians, I chose veterinary medicine. Deciding to become a veterinarian has been one of the best decisions of my life, and choosing Oklahoma State for my veterinary education has been too! The knowledge and experience I have gained have been amazing. One reason I was drawn to the profession was the seemingly endless possibilities a DVM provided. Oklahoma State has allowed me to explore these possibilities and have a great time in the process!"
