For years, Dr. Michael Davis, Oklahoma State University (OSU) Physiological Sciences Department, and a team of researchers including partners from the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) have studied the sled dogs that compete in the Iditarod. This week, the public is invited to a special exhibit at the Oklahoma State University Foundation that features the project.

The OSU Center for Veterinary Health Sciences and Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation present “Sled Dog Racing: Exercise Physiology Research on the Last Frontier.” The exhibit will feature photographs from the race, information on the research conducted by OSU and OMRF researchers and an authentic Iditarod dog sled and equipment.

The opening reception is scheduled for Thursday, July 26, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Malinda Berry Fischer Art Gallery, located at the OSU Foundation, 400 S. Monroe St., in Stillwater. It is open to the public at no charge. For additional information, please visit http://www.osugiving.com.
