The Oklahoma State University’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences announces this year’s Distinguished Alumni. Drs. Anton Kammerlocher, Class of 1957, and Lee Simmons, Class of 1963, were selected from a pool of nominations as the 2007 honorees.
The Oklahoma State University’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences announces this year’s Distinguished Alumni. Drs. Anton Kammerlocher, Class of 1957, and Lee Simmons, Class of 1963, were selected from a pool of nominations as the 2007 honorees.
The OSU College of Veterinary Medicine Alumni Association recognizes veterinarians who have made outstanding professional and personal achievements and contributions to the enhancement of the veterinary profession. Nominees must be a graduate of the college for at least 20 years and have contributed significant service to OSU, the College of Veterinary Medicine and the Alumni Association, society, the profession and the community. “Dr. Kammerlocher and Dr. Simmons are excellent and very deserving choices this year,” said Dean Michael Lorenz. “Dr. Simmons is the director of the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, one of the top zoos in the United States. Dr. Kammerlocher practiced for many years in Norman and has been actively involved in his community and with organized veterinary medicine.” Drs. Kammerlocher and Simmons will be honored at a special luncheon on Friday, Nov. 2, at the ConocoPhillips OSU Alumni Center. Reservations are required.
