People, Pets and Disease: OSU Veterinary Center offers Helpful Information PDF Print E-mail

(February 12, 2010 Stillwater, OK) – The Oklahoma State University’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences will host a Pet Care Seminar on Tuesday, March 2, at 7 p.m. in the McElroy Hall Auditorium on the Stillwater Campus. The topic of discussion will be “People, Pets and Diseases.”

Lara Sypniewski, DVM, Assistant Professor and Small Animal Community Practice Clinician at OSU’s Boren Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, will discuss the prevention of zoonotic diseases. Zoonotic diseases can be transmitted from animals to humans. Sypniewski will provide ways pet owners can keep their animals and their families safe. She will also address recent concerns regarding influenza H1N1 and pet companions.

Pet Care Seminars are open to the public at no charge. McElroy Hall is located on the corner of Farm Road and McFarland. Complimentary parking and light refreshments will be available. For more information, please call the Continuing Education Office at (405) 744-7672.
