OSU Veterinary Student Attends Smith-Kilborne Program

(August 18, 2009 Stillwater, OK) – Janine Veronneau, Class of 2011 at Oklahoma State University’s (OSU) Center for Veterinary Health Sciences, was one of 30 veterinary students chosen to participate in the annual Smith-Kilborne Program at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in Ithaca, N.Y., and the Plum Island Animal Diseases Center in Long Island, N.Y.

The program is designed to acquaint veterinary students with foreign animal diseases that potentially can threaten domestic animals. All 28 United States veterinary college and two Canadian veterinary colleges were represented.

Veronneau is the daughter of Bettina and Stephen Veronneau, both of Edmond, Okla.

The Oklahoma State University Center for Veterinary Health Sciences is one of 28 veterinary colleges in the United States and is fully accredited by the Council on Education of the American Veterinary Medical Association. The center’s Boren Veterinary Medial Teaching Hospital is open to the public and provides routine and specialized care for small and large animals.
