(January 7, 2009 Stillwater, OK) – Dr. Roger Panciera, Class of 1953, is one of three Oklahoma State University (OSU) alumni who will be inducted into the OSU Alumni Hall of Fame in 2009. Panciera is joined by amateur basketball legend Bob Kurland and hotel and resort innovator Steven Jorns.

Known world-wide for his investigative pathology, research and dedication to veterinary pathology, Panciera has contributed to the education of veterinary students and pathology residents as well as mentoring of faculty. He currently serves as an Emeritus faculty member at the OSU Center for Veterinary Health Sciences and continues his pathology research. “Dr. Panciera and his many achievements bring great pride to the OSU Center for Veterinary Health Sciences,” says Dr. Michael Lorenz, professor and dean of the veterinary center. “Through the successes of our Veterinary Medicine graduates, we advance the profession of veterinary medicine and improve the health care of animals and humans alike.” Induction into the OSU Alumni Hall of Fame is the highest honor bestowed by the OSU Alumni Association. Given to three alumni annually, it recognizes outstanding lifetime achievement in society and professional life as well as service to the advancement of the university and the Alumni Association. The induction ceremony will be held at the ConocoPhillips OSU Alumni Center in Stillwater on Friday, Feb. 27, 2009. Tickets are available at the OSU Alumni Association and cost $75 per person with tables starting at $1,250. The Oklahoma State University Center for Veterinary Health Sciences is one of 28 veterinary colleges in the United States and is fully accredited by the Council on Education of the American Veterinary Medical Association. The center’s Boren Veterinary Medial Teaching Hospital is open to the public and provides routine and specialized care for small and large animals.
