Veterinary Instructors Recognized by Students PDF Print E-mail

(May 6, 2009 Stillwater, OK) – The Oklahoma State University (OSU) Center for Veterinary Health Sciences recently held its Annual Awards Banquet. Among those honored were four veterinary faculty members, one representing each year of the veterinary medical curriculum.

Once a year, each class votes by ballot for their favorite teacher during that year. Here are the 2009 Outstanding Instructors for Years 1, 2, 3 and 4:

Left to right: Kimberly Jungermann (’10), Dr. Jim Lish, Year 1, and Emma Ryan (’10)

Left to right: Melissa Lowry (’11) and Dr. Susan Little, Year 2

Left to right: Laura Townley (’10), Dr. Sandra Morgan, Year 3, and Ashley Sewell (’10)

Left to right: Sabrina Vobornik (’09) and Dr. Justin Thomason, Year 4

The veterinary students’ comments carried a common theme—these instructors are passionate about teaching, about ensuring that the students understand the material and about going the extra mile whether it’s learning each student’s name, holding review sessions, or making learning fun.
