(May 11, 2009 Stillwater, OK) – In 1959, a class of 38 graduated from the OSU College of Veterinary Medicine. Of the 28 living members, six returned to the Stillwater campus to celebrate their 50th year reunion.
Friday, May 8, the group reconnected at Freddie Paul’s restaurant in Stillwater for dinner. On Saturday, May 9, the Class of 1959 was honored at a reception in the Alumni Conference of McElroy Hall on the veterinary center campus.  Members of the Veterinary Administration Council provided alumni and guests with an update on the veterinary center. Classmates reminisced, toured the facilities with Ambassador Adam Byrd, Class of 2011, and joined the Class of 2009 for the Hooding Ceremony at Gallagher Iba Arena that evening. The Oklahoma State University Center for Veterinary Health Sciences is one of 28 veterinary colleges in the United States and is fully accredited by the Council on Education of the American Veterinary Medical Association. The center’s Boren Veterinary Medial Teaching Hospital is open to the public and provides routine and specialized care for small and large animals.
