| Veterinary Student Receives Award |

STILLWATER, Okla.—Levi Dykes, a fourth year veterinary student at OSU’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences, received the Above and Beyond Award for the fall 2008 semester from the Center’s Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. Dykes is the son of Lucille and James Dykes of Helena, Okla. Dykes was recognized for his organizational skills and his helpfulness. He demonstrates a constant desire to learn, and has an excellent work ethic. He often works after hours caring for his patients even when he is not on call. One weekend he performed radiographs and helped with a CT scan on a white tailed deer buck, and assisted in the surgery involving the spine. He exhibited excellent clinical skills and took intensive care of the buck after the surgery according to Dr. Lionel Dawson, associate professor in large animal medicine and surgery. |
