The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) Veterinary Services recently selected Erica Dissmore, Class of 2010, as one of four U.S. veterinary students to participate in USDA Veterinary Services training courses.

Dissmore will travel to Seattle, Wash., later this summer to participate in a three-day, all-expenses-paid training course in aquaculture. Erica will receive a combination of lecture and wet lab instruction in biological and epidemiological concepts of aquaculture. The purpose of this USDA training program is to provide high caliber veterinary students a closer look at possible careers in public practice.
