(October 29, 2008 Stillwater, OK) – The Oklahoma State University’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences is celebrating their 60th Anniversary during 2008. To mark this momentous occasion in the history of the state’s only veterinary college, the center has partnered with a local favorite, who has a rich history of its own, Eskimo Joe’s.
A special commemorative T-Shirt, designed by Eskimo Joe’s Creative Director Mike Staubus, is on sale at the center’s Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital Small Animal Clinic during regular business hours for $15 per shirt. Proceeds from the sale of these shirts will benefit the center’s Veterinary Student Scholarship Fund.
“We are delighted that Eskimo Joe’s wanted to help us not only celebrate 60 years of excellence in veterinary medicine but also to help support our veterinary students,” smiles Dr. Michael Lorenz, professor and dean of the OSU Center for Veterinary Health Sciences. “Our graduates face loans in excess of $100,000 upon graduation. They are great students who participate in OSU activities and in local programs while they are here. We’re glad to offer people the opportunity to help support them as they strive to be tomorrow’s first line of defense against animal and human diseases.”
The Oklahoma State University Center for Veterinary Health Sciences is one of 28 veterinary colleges in the United States and is fully accredited by the Council on Education of the American Veterinary Medical Association. The Center’s Veterinary Medial Teaching Hospital is open to the public and provides routine and specialized care for small and large animals.
