According to an article released by the Arkansas Veterinary Association, Dr. Debbie Cunningham, Class of 1998, was named director of the first Vet Tech Program at Arkansas State University (ASU) at Beebe.

After graduating from OSU, Dr. Cunningham completed a Residency in Clinical Pathology and recently served as a clinical pathologist at Antech Diagnostics and the Arkansas Livestock and Poultry Commission.

The first semester of the new Vet Tech Program is scheduled to open in August 2007. There will be nine scholarships available to eligible applicants.

"I am very excited to be part of Arkansas' first program in veterinary technology," says Dr. Cunningham. "This program has been a dream for the veterinarians of Arkansas for many years. I look forward to getting the program off the ground and receiving our American Veterinary Medical Association accreditation. ASU-Beebe will be the only school in Arkansas to offer this program and we are excited to offer some additional educational and career opportunities to the young people of Arkansas."
