Veterinary Center Mourns Loss of Alumnus PDF Print E-mail

Dr. Richard Blake, Class of 1961, suffered a heart attack and died unexpectedly on April 3, 2007.

Dr. Blake was an active member of the OSU CVM Alumni Association and a strong supporter of the Center for Veterinary Health Sciences. It was just last year that the OVMA voted him 2006 Veterinarian of the Year. He was the 16th OSU alumnus to receive the honor.

“Richard will long be remembered for his many contributions to the veterinary medical profession,” says Dr. Michael Lorenz, Dean of the Veterinary Center. “He was a good friend to many of us and we will all surely miss him.”

Funeral services will be on Saturday, April 7, at 10 a.m. at the Southern Hills Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. From OSU’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences, our deepest condolences go to his wife, Barbara, and the Blake family.
