2007 Crawfish Boil PDF Print E-mail

On March 30 and 31, 2007, the OSU Center for Veterinary Health Sciences opened its doors to the public. This biannual Open House provides the community and potential veterinary students a first hand look at the services available at the State’s Veterinary Center.

Center for Veterinary Health Sciences goes Cajun

The veterinary students, staff and faculty were recently treated to some great Cajun food while enjoying music by Bo Phillips at the 2007 Crawfish Boil sponsored by Hill’s Pet Nutrition.

The Saturday event was moved indoors due to inclement weather. Made possible by Dr. Charles Thibodeaux, Hill’s Veterinary Affairs Manager, the event is designed to provide educational learning stations involving three therapeutic diets for pets. Students who completed the learning portion of the program each received a coupon for a free bag of dog or cat food and were eligible for prize drawings.

Others who assisted with the organization of the event include: Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital staff and faculty; Drs. Susanne Short, Charles MacAllister and Mark Neer; Joe Wilson, Marilyn Moffat, Jim Hargrave and the maintenance staff.

The following prizes were awarded to these students:

  • Olympus 5 MP digital camera: Brian Loveless (2007), Lexy Milaszewska (2007), Kevin Wahl (2008)
  • I-pod Shuffle: Oliver Engle (2007), Gwen Ingersoll (2007), Kira Kautz (2007), Sara Gresham (2008), Jennifer Barber (2008), Christy Pitts (2008), Kristen Sievert (2009), Jennifer Campanicki (2009)
