Chris Bellinger, Class of 2010, receives the first DuBois Family Scholarship from Dr. Bill DuBois, Class of 1996.

Dr. Paul DuBois established the DuBois Family Scholarship in the fall of 2006 to benefit a first-year veterinary student attending Oklahoma State University. The DuBois family boasts four alumni of the OSU College of Veterinary Medicine—Drs. Paul DuBois, Class of 1967, and his sons, Joseph DuBois, Class of 2001, and William DuBois, Class of 1996, as well as William’s wife Angela DuBois, Class of 1999.

The first recipient of this scholarship is Christopher Bellinger, Class of 2010. Bellinger is originally from Perryville, Ark. He received a certificate and $1,000.

Eligible students must show an interest in food animals and/or rural/small town veterinary practice, maintain a 3.0 or higher undergraduate GPA and demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to a student coming from a rural or agricultural background, recognizing the shortage in rural veterinary practitioners and the vital role they play in maintaining a healthy food supply.
