Nestle Purina sponsored the delicious barbeque picnic for approximately 375 attendees.

A picnic would not be complete without games. The students and faculty had fun competing in a tug of war, egg toss and two different relay games. Nestlé Purina donated prizes of water bottles, leashes and Frisbees--a little something for everyone.

Winners of the egg toss were Laura Townley and Brad Stock both from the Class of 2010. The winning team in the pretzel relay race included Drs. James Hart, Lyndi Gilliam, John Gilliam and these members of the Class of 2011: Josey Black, Adam Byrd, Amy Copeland, and Gina Roberts. Members of the winning team in the balloon/bubble gum blowing contest were: Dr. Heath Qualls; Class of 2010 members Leslie Lovett, Ashley Nichols, Mary Ellen Porter (the wife of Shane Porter) and Brad Youngblood; and Jill Houk, Class of 2011.

In the traditional tug of war to earn bragging rights for the remainder of the academic year, the first and second year veterinary students faced off. The Class of 2010 won. Then the third and fourth year students took a turn. The fourth year class won that round. Faculty tested their strength against the Class of 2008 with the students prevailing. The final round was the second year students against the fourth year students. Once again, the Class of 2010 won earning the second year students bragging rights.

A special thanks to Nestlé Purina, the College of Veterinary Medicine and staff, faculty and custodial personnel for helping make the Center for Veterinary Health Sciences’ All School Picnic a great time for all.
