|OSU Alumnae Up for Mrs. Northern Oklahoma - Veterinary Graduate Runs on Spay/Neuter Platform|
STILLWATER, Okla.—Dr. Kimberly Huckaby, a 2006 graduate of Oklahoma State University’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences, is competing for the Mrs. Northern Oklahoma title. The young veterinarian has partnered with The Humane Society of the United States and is running on a spay or neuter platform.
According to Huckaby, people can go to http://www.okpageants.com/north2008.htm, scroll to the bottom of the page and select “click here” and vote for a candidate before Feb. 13, 2008. The contestant receiving the most votes will win the “People’s Choice” Award.
Supporters can also attend the competition in person to support Dr. Huckaby. The event will be held on Saturday, Feb. 16, at 2 p.m. in the Stillwater Community Center. Once she passes this preliminary round, she moves on to compete for Mrs. Oklahoma. The winner of Mrs. Oklahoma then travels to Chicago, Ill., for the Mrs. International title.
This competition provides Dr. Huckaby with an excellent opportunity to educate people about the importance of animal birth control and the responsibility of pet owners to spay or neuter.
