(June 24, 2010   Stillwater, OK) – Twenty of the 33 living members of the Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine Class of 1960 returned to campus on May 7 and 8, 2010.  The veterinarians along with their spouses/guests and one classmate’s widow traveled to Stillwater to celebrate their 50th year reunion.

The group gathered at Freddie Paul’s Restaurant on Friday, May 7, to catch up over dinner.  On Saturday, May 8, they met at Wes Watkins Center for a luncheon and presentations by dean Dr. Michael Lorenz and members of the Veterinary Administrative Council.  The next stop was a tour of the OSU Center for Veterinary Health Sciences, including the Boren Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital which wasn’t yet built when these men earned their DVM degrees.  Ambassadors Colleen Stevens (’12) and Nancy Henslee (’13) served as tour guides.

The group ended the celebration at the 2010 Hooding Ceremony that evening at Gallagher Iba Arena.  As the Class of 2010 prepared to join the ranks of OSU veterinary alumni, each attending member of the Class of 1960 was introduced to honor their accomplishments during the last 50 years.


Beginning in 2001, the OSU Center for Veterinary Health Sciences has honored the class celebrating its 50th anniversary, which gives each alumni class an opportunity to reconnect with their alma mater and share their experiences and successes throughout their veterinary careers.
