(October 14, 2010   Stillwater, OK) – Oklahoma State University’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences proudly welcomes veterinary oncologist Kimberly Reeds, DVM.  Dr. Reeds recently joined the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at OSU’s Boren Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital as assistant professor to provide optimal care for cancer patients at the veterinary hospital’s small animal clinic.

Reeds will present “The Pet Owner’s Guide to Cancer” at the next Pet Care Seminar on Tuesday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. in McElroy Hall Auditorium.  Pet Care Seminars are open to the public at no charge.  Reeds will cover common cancers afflicting pets and how to treat them.  She will also share some new treatment options that are available.  Complimentary parking and light refreshments will be available.  McElroy Hall is located at the corner of McFarland and Farm Road on the Stillwater campus.

Originally from Newcastle, Okla., Reeds is a 2005 graduate of OSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine.  Following graduation she worked in a private practice in Frisco, Texas, for one year and then completed a 1-year Radiation Therapy Internship at Purdue University.  She recently completed a 3-year Residency in Oncology at Kansas State University and is earning her Master of Science degree.    She welcomes consultations and referrals at the veterinary hospital (405-744-7000).
