Oklahoma State Veterinary Student Commissioned in U.S. Army PDF Print E-mail

(May 1, 2012   Stillwater, OK) – Candace Wimbish of Denton, Texas, and a veterinary student at OSU’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences, was commissioned on April 27 as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army.  Performing the ceremony was COL (Ret.) Kenneth Bartels, McCasland Professorship in Biomedical Laser Surgery and Kerr Foundation Endowed Chair in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at the veterinary center.

Pet Care Seminar Offered: What to Feed Fido PDF Print E-mail

(April 10, 2012 Stillwater, OK) – Oklahoma State University’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences will host a Pet Care Seminar on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at 7 p.m. in McElroy Hall Auditorium. Mary Bowles, DVM, DACVIM, will present “Feeding Fido” providing attendees with information on the basic nutritional needs of the dog. Dr. Bowles will tell pet owners how to decipher pet food labels as well as the pros and cons of homemade and specially formulated diets.

Pet Care Seminar: Can Pets and People Get the Same Infections? PDF Print E-mail

(March 12, 2012   Stillwater, OK) – “Tick-borne diseases shared by pets and people” is the topic of the next Pet Care Seminar sponsored by Oklahoma State University’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences on Tuesday, April 3, at 7 p.m.

 

“Both pets and people are commonly bitten by ticks in Oklahoma,” says Susan Little, DVM.  “Come learn about the risks of tick-borne infections in pets, what those infections may be telling us about human disease risk, and different ways we can protect ourselves and our pets from ticks.”

OSU Veterinary Center Opens Its Doors PDF Print E-mail

(March 5, 2012 Stillwater, OK) – On Saturday, March 3, 2012, Oklahoma State University’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences opened its doors for its Annual Open House from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Stillwater campus. Nearly 700 visitors from Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas and Texas took advantage of this behind the scenes look at veterinary medicine and Oklahoma’s only veterinary college.
