New Imaging Modality Available at OSU’s Veterinary Center PDF Print E-mail

(February 9, 2012   Stillwater, OK) – Oklahoma State University’s Boren Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital recently added to its advanced imaging capabilities a 1.5T GE EchoSpeed MRI unit.  Housed in a trailer on the north side of the veterinary hospital, the MRI can accommodate dogs, cats, small ruminants, pot belly pigs and exotic patients up to approximately 300 pounds.

Attention Camelid and Small Ruminant Owners: OSU to Host Seminar PDF Print E-mail

(February 7, 2012 Stillwater, OK) – Oklahoma State University’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences will host a seminar for camelid and small ruminant owners on Saturday, March 10, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $50 per person if you register before March 1 ($75 registration fee thereafter). Registration covers all materials, refreshment breaks and lunch.

It’s Pet Dental Health Month! PDF Print E-mail

(January 31, 2012   Stillwater, OK) – Oklahoma State University’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences reminds all pet owners that February is National Pet Dental Health Month and dental health is just as important for pets as it is for their owners!

 

According to the partners in the “Pets Need Dental Care, Too” campaign, which include the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Dental Society, oral health is vital to the overall health of animals.  Bad breath can be an indication of a more serious problem and warrants a visit to your veterinarian.

OSU Veterinary Center Supports Oklahoma Livestock Relief Efforts PDF Print E-mail

(January 26, 2012   Stillwater, OK) – Oklahoma State University’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences is one of several founding members of the Oklahoma Livestock Relief Coalition.  The formation of the OLRC was formally announced by Gov. Mary Fallin earlier this week.

 

The OLRC mission is to provide financial resources to local law enforcement agencies that have seized abused and neglected livestock and assure humane care of the animals.
