 Barbie, the horse that was treated at OSU’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences for snake bites and other complications using Maggot Debridement Therapy, returned to the Veterinary Center’s Large Animal Clinic last week for a routine follow up visit.

 After five weeks, Barbie is going home after suffering one or more snake bites and battling life-threatening circumstances to finish recuperating thanks to the veterinary care she received at Oklahoma State University's Center for Veterinary Health Sciences. The 16-month-old filly is owned by Mrs. Janie Kaser of Morris, Okla.

It was a beautiful Saturday. On a whim, Lori Young and Rick Boyd trailered their horses, Sugar and Spice, from their home in Ponca City to Lake Carl Blackwell for an overnight campout where they would ride the many trails available to the public.
