So you found a baby bird, bunny, squirrel, turtle, opossum, raccoon or deer. The nest blew out of the tree, the bunny or turtle was in the garden, the squirrel, opossum or raccoon was in your yard, the deer was laying down alongside a fence….what do you do? Addison’s disease, also referred to as hypoadrenocorticism, is an immune disease, which attacks the adrenal glands. It can be difficult to diagnose since the signs may be very subtle. It occurs primarily in dogs but has also been reported in cats.

Bird Care - Perch Selection

My budgie parakeets love to sit on a sand perch that I purchased to keep their nails short. I’ve heard that these kinds of perches can cause damage to the bird’s feet, which develops into other problems since they spend the majority of their lives either sitting or climbing. Is this true? Should I routinely switch the perch to prevent them from sitting on it for too long? Also, is a sand covered perch better than a sandpaper one?
