| Job Description | The successful candidate will be responsible for all the after-hours care of large animal emergencies until the following morning at which time cases will be transferred to the daytime emergency/ critical care, equine surgery or food animal clinical services. The candidate will be expected to participate in the clinical teaching of veterinary students, interns, and residents in surgery and large animal emergency/ critical care. Clinic duty will involve 24 weeks of emergency duty on nights and weekends and 22-26 weeks of daytime surgery and lameness or emergency clinical service. A minimum of 8 weeks with no clinical duties will be available to prepare for the ACVS certifying exam. |
| Qualifications | Requirements include a DVM or equivalent degree, and credentials accepted by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. Preferences will be given to individuals with a strong interest in equine emergency and critical care. The emergency/ critical care caseload is primarliy equine but food animals and camelids are a part of after hours caseload. |
