| Job Description | Progressive mixed animal medicine in a small town setting! Located in Beulah, ND (northwest of Bismarck), this two doctor practice would like to add a third full-time associate. The owners bring nearly 30 years of experience to the table and are eager to mentor a new graduate and prepare the ideal candidate for eventual ownership. The practice’s case load is currently: · 50% Small Animal · 45% Beef (Predominately cow/calf with a little feedlot) · 5% Equine (Predominately ranch and pleasure with a little breeding) The clinic is looking for someone who appreciates the pleasures of practicing mixed animal medicine in a rural setting. A third veterinarian will have the opportunity to see a variety of cases, backed with mentorship, a modern facility and an efficient team. In addition to sharing the current caseload, the new veterinarian will be encouraged to pursue his/her own area of special interest. In addition to practicing excellent medicine and staying true to the philosophy that the client comes first, the clinic believes in the importance of a work/life balance. As with most rural practices, the clinic does see its own emergencies which will be evenly split between the three veterinarians. To compensate doctors for emergency work, the doctor on-call will receive the full emergency fee if he/she is required to go in. Since emergency work can be taxing at times, doctors receive three weeks of vacation each year and get a three day weekend every third weekend. The clinic is open from 8AM-6PM Monday through Friday and 8:00AM until noon on Saturday. A third associate will be joining us in our new facility (built in 2002) complete with bovine and equine treatment and surgical areas, small animal exam rooms, surgery, x-ray, kennel areas, and an isolation room. Most of the work is in the clinic, yet a vehicle provided for country calls. The facilities are complimented by an experienced support staff of four veterinary technicians, kennel staff and a groomer. We are happy to reward the right candidate with:
The management style of the owners revolves around mentorship up front with the new associate earning independence as he/she matures and becomes comfortable. There will be no hand-holding here, but candidates can count on the full support of the doctors and staff as they’re learning the ropes. The location of the practice is just as important as the practice itself and Beulah, North Dakota is a small, yet prosperous town of near 3,000 with great schools, services, and recreation. The community is friendly with a low cost of living and high quality of life. More information on the community can be found at: www.beulahnd.org. |
| Qualifications | In addition to the desire to practice medicine in a rural setting, candidates must:
· Be familiar with how to handle/work large and small animals · Possess excellent communication skills · Enjoy interacting with clients |
