Dear 2009 Graduate,Congratulations on your accomplishments, few outside of Veterinary Medicine know the true nature of your dedication to finally receive a degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.I had sent a letter several months ago hoping to find one or two associates to join my two practices. Perhaps you read it and this second letter will spark further interest. I have had some inquires but no commitments. I am in need of an associate Veterinarian. The two practices are located in the desert communities of the Antelope Valley in Southern California. We are close to beaches and mountains, the city is close also for those who don’t mind the hurry up pace of Los Angeles.We have had two new graduates work with us over the past 4 years. Both moved on due to personal reasons but both have stayed in touch and repeat often they miss the working environment they experienced. My wife and I are both 1988 Graduates of University of Missouri. Our goal with the new graduates was to provide a fun first experience in practice, lots of mentoring and learning together. We have a wonderful staff and I am proud that we all work together well and look forward to seeing each other on a daily basis.We have all the latest equipment, ultrasound, in house diagnostics, tono pen… etc. I have a special interest in orthopedics and TPLO’s and TTA’s are routine for us. We always try to stay current and improve what we can offer our clients. We see the complete variety of surgical and medical cases and referral clinics are nearby for those cases needing additional care.We will offer all the normal medical and liability insurance, vacation, continuing education, no emergency duty, etc. We offer a guaranteed base salary of 70 to 80K with a production incentive that should easily provide an annual salary over 100K.I am also very interested in selling one of the practices. This is a great opportunity for a new graduate that has an entrepreneur inclination. There are many opportunities available in addition to an associate position. I would consider a lease or partnership or even profit share for the right applicant. The practice is very profitable and would easily provide a 6 figure plus income after debt service.
