WASHINGTON STATE UNIVERSITYAssistant/Associate Professor - NeurologyThe Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University invites applications for a tenure or clinical track Assistant or Associate Professor position in Veterinary Neurology/Neurosurgery. This position will be integrated into a neurology and neurosurgery team whose primary missions are clinical teaching, service, and research. The successful applicant will have responsibility for directing neurology cases (including case management, supervision of residents, coordination of the clinical and teaching service with other sections of the hospital, and interactions with referring veterinarians); participate in didactic and clinical teaching, service, and scholarly activities; and must be able to effectively communicate and work with a diverse group of people. Diagnostic capabilities include in-house magnetic resonance imaging (MR), computed tomography (CT), and electrodiagnostic equipment. Surgical facility is equipped with a full range of neurosurgical equipment including an operating microscope and an ultrasonic aspirator. The physical rehabilitation facility is equipped with an underwater treadmill, electric muscle stimulator and therapeutic ultrasound and is under the supervision of a certified canine rehabilitation practitioner. Scholarly activity can be in the form of independent and/or collaborative basic and/or clinical research. Extensive collaborative opportunities exist with the neuroscience program in the Department of Veterinary and Comparative Anatomy, Pharmacology and Physiology (VCAPP) in the College of Veterinary Medicine. Minimum Qualifications: candidate must possess a DVM or very related degree; completion of a 3-year residency in neurology; and eligibility for or board certification in ACVIM (subspecialty in Neurology) or ECVN.
