| Job Description | Gloucester Veterinary Hospital LTD
The veterinarians and staff at Gloucester Veterinary Hospital are searching for an additional veterinarian to join our facility. Our hospital, located on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay, has been an integral part of the community since 1965. During that time the practice has grown from one doctor to three full-time and three part-time veterinarians. While we started as a small mixed animal practice, we have grown and expanded as our county has developed. Currently, we are a busy small animal practice that balances modern technology with the personal attention of a hometown practice. Our goal at Gloucester Veterinary Hospital is providing in-depth veterinary care, while keeping high quality medicine accessible to the general public. We provide complete in-house laboratory testing, daily pick-up for reference laboratory samples, digital radiography, ultrasonagraphy, endoscopy, laser surgery and electrocardiography. Our surgery schedule is demanding, with a wide range of procedures not limited to spays and neuters. We have a variety of referral practices in the area, as well as a convenient, fully staffed emergency clinic nearby. The emergency clinic is capable of accepting cases requiring in-depth medical attention for the evening, as well as covering our practice’s emergency responsibilities. Exotics and pocket pets are a small but ever growing portion of our clientele. Doctors from Gloucester Veterinary Hospital provide the medical care for animals in the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center collection in Virginia Beach. The exhibits are rather extensive and contains a large variety of animals including fish, sharks, seals, otters, sea turtles, birds, reptiles and amphibians. We strongly believe in mentoring new graduates. They are closely nurtured through a program that assigns them a senior staff member and technician as mentors. The mentors change each day so that the new staff member is exposed to a variety of ideas and opinions while constantly receiving the necessary guidance and support key to a recent graduate’s success. Our compensation package is competitive and includes profit sharing, continuing education, sick leave and vacation. Currently, we are seeking an aggressive, competent individual who is able to connect well with clients, produce quality medicine and blend well with our staff. If you are interested please contact us. |
