Job Description

The Veterinary Technician will care for animals by administering basic shots, deworming, weighing, feeding and watering, conducting basic health assessments, and observing for and treating illness.  They also maintain animal health records by entering relevant data into a computer tracking system, photograph animals for records and adoption marketing, and clean kennel areas.

Qualifications Candidates must have the knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, and office processes.  Must have broad knowledge in the field of veterinary services, usually acquired through an Associate’s degree program.  They must also be licensed as a Registered Veterinary Technician or receive a license from the Texas Association of Registered Veterinary Technicians within 6 months of hire.
